Centrica Energy operates the UK’s most modern fleet of gas powered power stations. Kings Lynn is a 325MW station commissioned in 1997. We now require a Maintenance Technician to ensure daily maintenance is carried out as required to relevant HSE standards, best business value and industry good practice, whilst ensuring full compliance with company and statutory requirements.
Your skills & experience will include
* A minimum of ONC (or equivalent experience) in an appropriate engineering subject.
* Have completed a recognised formal training programme or apprenticeship to achieve technician status (C&G parts I, II &III)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A flexible approach, adapting quickly change and who enjoys being fully involved in ensuring the business is a success.
* The ability to identify improvements and take initiatives to improve the business.
* Good numeracy, literacy and problem solving skills.
* Demonstrable competence in use of IT/IS skills e.g. MS Office.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Executing maintenance activities in accordance with agreed procedures and operational requirements to ensure plant is operating safely, effectively and efficiently.
* Carrying out first line maintenance activities, with response to emergency / unscheduled situations.
* Investigating complex technical problems relating to critical plant and resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
* Preparing work method statements, risk assessment and / or plant operating instructions ensuring the required level of maintenance to asset is achieved and records maintained.
* Preparing work orders; ordering spares, completing risk assessments and identifying adequate resources.
* Providing leadership for the work, carrying out the delegate person responsibility to assist in ensuring site compliance and elements of the Business Management System reflect the site practices.
* Adopting the technical lead role where necessary and appropriate in accordance with requests from the maintenance team leader.
* Providing Service Support functions to the Operations department and ensuring defects and status of any maintenance activity is effectively communicated to the shift teams.
