Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical)

Responsibilities:
1. Collect regularly from the discipline section managers concerned the information about the work done by the subcontractor.
2. Measure on the drawings the quantity(ies) of the work done by the subcontractor periodically, in reference to the B/Q, according to the measurement method of the work provided for in the relevant contract.
3. Review and verify the quantity(ies) invoiced monthly by the subcontractor for the work done during the relevant month, according to the Payment Procedure of the project.
4. Report to the Subcontract Manager any information required in terms of the measured quantity(ies) of the work done by the subcontractor.
5. Provide the Schedule Control Section regularly with the information about the volume of the work done by the subcontractor.
6. Guide, as required, the subcontractors on the contractual measurement method of their work for their proper invoicing.
7. Perform, other than all the above, whatever duties entrusted by the Subcontract Manager in relation to the quantity surveying work.
Requirements:
1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Quantity Survey, Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
2. At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
3. Preferably Executives Level specializing in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical.

Subcontract Engineer
(United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia)
Responsibilities:
1. Understand local condition survey, “Invitation To Bidders” (ITB) of Client, “Subcontract Plan and Procedures” and other conditions required for selecting subcontractors for the project, and collect and summarize data of subcontract candidates for prequalification based on the JGC’s or Client’s Subcontractor’s Lists or Database.
2. Collect and compile data for “Short List” of subcontractors for each category of construction work for the project.
3. Prepare inquiry packages for each category of construction work in cooperation with the Construction Supervision Section for obtaining “BIDS” from subcontractors, and dispatch inquiry documents to subcontractors and, if required, addendum for any change or addition to the documents.
4. Evaluate “BIDS” submitted by subcontractors in cooperation with the Construction Supervision Section and Cost Estimation Section from the technical and commercial viewpoints respectively.
5. Carry out the clarification of “BIDS” coordinating with the Construction Supervision Section and subcontractors.
6. Arrange meetings for clarification and negotiation with subcontractors.
7. Prepare “Letter of Intent” and contract documents for all the subcontract works, and dispatch the documents approved by the Construction Manager to subcontractors.
8. Prepare “Contract Award Status Report” (Subcontract Status Report) submitted to the Schedule Controller.
9. Prepare or review the “Change Authorization Procedure” for the change work if required.
10. Maintain records on subcontractor information to provide a database of knowledge for future project reference.
11. Check or prepare the following reports monthly;
- “Progress Report” prepared by subcontractors
- “Payment Control Report” for checking payment to subcontractors
- “Subcontract Status Report” submitted to the Schedule Controller
12. Perform works related with “Change Order” such as examination of “FIELD CHANGE SHEET”, evaluation, clarification and negotiation of “Change Order Proposals” and dispatch of “Change Order” for the changes.
13. Survey and negotiate with small local subcontractors for small subcontract works at site and prepare such subcontracts.
14. Participate in the resolution of contractual claims with subcontractors by doing interpretation of contracts and helping communication works of the Construction Section at site.
15. Check invoices and attached documents from subcontractors based on the “Progress Report”.
16. Make the following reports and documents at the final stage of the project.
- “Subcontract Account Finalization”
- “Contract Completion Formalities”
- “Subcontract Status Report”
17. Perform, other than all the above, whatever duties entrusted by the Subcontract Manager in respect of the construction subcontract work.
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
* At least 10 year(s) of working experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Construction.
