Job Vacancy as Geophysicist at UK - Cananda

Owing to continued success in the UK sector an opportunity has arisen for a
Senior Geophysicist to join the existing team.
Although a mature region, Petro-Canada has been successful in increasing its production in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea, most significantly through participation in the Buzzard and Scott/Telford oil fields. In the UK North Sea, Petro-Canada has numerous operated and non-operated exploration and production assets, including the operated assets of Guillemot West and Northwest, Clapham, Pict, and Saxon.
Reporting directly to the Chief Geophysicist you will work as part of an integrated Geoscience team with responsibilities covering multiple assets within the UKCS portfolio. Your accountabilities will include:
Applications for new acreage or asset purchases
Drilling of wells
Acquisition of seismic data & well seismic programs
Seismic processing and technical studies
Educated to degree level / equivalent or higher in a geoscience or related subject, you will have previous experience working as a Geophysicist, preferably within an operating oil company environment, and up to date knowledge of modern seismic interpretation and mapping applications.
Providing timely and accurate geophysical interpretations, mapping, recommendations and advice for the following;
Development, appraisal and exploration well planning
Producing Fields, Fields awaiting development and other asset evaluations
Prospect and lead generation, volumetrics estimations, technical risk assessment, project ranking and well proposals
New venture and acreage evaluations
Represent company in meetings and presentations with other oil companies, contractors and regulatory bodies
Sole evaluation of geophysical understanding for major decisions on;
This role is based in the Aberdeen office on local package terms.
