Centrica Storage Ltd (CSL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Centrica Plc and is the leading supplier of physical gas storage services in the UK. CSL operate the Rough gas storage facility in the Southern North Sea, the Easington onshore gas processing terminal in East Yorkshire and the Langeled Norwegian gas reception and processing facility: Collectively providing a significant percentage of UK gas demand.

The offshore Rough Gas Field is located approximately 29 km north east of Easington off the coast of East Yorkshire. Centrica Storage Ltd has responsibility for both operation and maintenance of the Rough Storage facilities and pipelines. The installations high pressure gas processing facilities can be operated in either production mode where gas is sent onshore to the national grid or injection mode where gas is taken from the national grid and re-injected into the offshore reservoir.

Offshore Operations Technician (Production)

Salary: £47,730 - £56, 979 (Inc. Offshore Allowance)
Location: Offshore - East Yorkshire

Person Specification:

Knowledge of high pressure gas processing & compression
Experience of ESD and F&G systems would be advantageous
Understanding of utility & life support systems
Able to work effectively in a team
Flexibility in working patterns
Ability to work unsupervised as required
Comprehensive understanding of Permit to Work systems and associated risk assessments
Capable of working with heights
Knowledge of Offshore legislation
Member of the platforms Emergency Response – training will be given if not already a member

Role Purpose:
The role of the Offshore Operations Technician (Production) is to undertake all aspects of operating/monitoring high pressure gas processing / compression facilities and utility systems on the offshore platform safely end efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
To ensure daily gas nominations are achieved and life support systems remain operational.
Control Room Operations.
Undertake first line maintenance

Qualifications:
Qualified to ONC/NVQ or hold a BTEC Ordinary Certificate in Production Operations or an appropriate engineering discipline.

Special Conditions:
Work Pattern: Normally seven 12 hour night shifts, followed by seven 12 hour day shifts, followed by fourteen day leave period (plus holidays), note this will be changing to 21 day leave period in Q1 2009 (2 on 3 off rosta)
As this position is offshore the successful candidate would be expected to work in harsh weather environments
