Chevron Australia is seeking an experienced Petrophysicist to join its Deepwater Gas Team. The key function of the role is to perform petrophysical analyses to support subsurface modelling efforts on new gas field developments.
The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate key findings to peers, management and JV partners.
Petrophysicist
Location: Perth, Western Australia
Key competencies include:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including experience with gas reservoirs through exploration to development
- experience in developing petrophysical models for a variety of subsurface lithologies including clastics, carbonates and complex mineralogies
- understanding of integrated subsurface analysis, well testing, drilling and completion operations
- strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

Key responsibilities include:
- acting as a focal point for petrophysical evaluations within the Deepwater Gas team
- providing technical guidance on petrophysical evaluations including wireline, routine and special core analysis
- using formation evaluation programs, such as GEOLOG, to perform petrophysical analyses
- integrating formation evaluation results with other key disciplines (stratigraphy, geologic modelling, reservoir engineering, geophysics etc.)
- mentoring graduate engineers/earth scientists in log and petrophysical evaluations.
